This ranking system has been updated by Grand-Master Russell Perron, who organized IFAA in 1968. On Julu 13th, 2013 a meeting was held with Grand-Master Russell Perron and several other Blackbelts to increase or adjust all current Black Belts to higher ranking status over a 10 to 15 year period. In Attendance Malikia Tripp, Harold Chapman, Ervin Kamack, Emma Perron, Donald King and Terrence Ware.
The decision to adjust and give current black belts the language needed to be printed on updated certificates was discussed. It was decided by the attending black beltsthat Terrence Ware, who originally designed the first IFAA Certificate would re-design and update all other pertinent infomation with the approval of Grand-Master Russell Perron.
It was also decided that (3rd Degree black belts can only promote students tined under them to first (1st) and second (2nd) degree black belts; it would then require someone with higher ranking belt to promote any higher.
It was suggested that all new certificates begin with serialized numbers('#') from 001 and up.
